You know what is interesting about the New Year, it almost certainly comes with a hangover. Don’t get me wrong, it is warranted. 2015 is now in the books. It was good for some, great for others, and some just want to erase the entire year and start over.

The hard thing for me is that it is hard to get in a groove. Christmas trees stay up way too long. Wrapping paper is still in the recycling bin and kids are having a hard time adjusting to the new school schedule. Yea, after two months of celebrating with Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays we have to go on diets. It is so damn hard isn’t it? I love those sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls, don’t you?

No other way to say it, but it sort of sucks. We did take our tree and lights down before the New Year, but I wonder what percentage of American’s still haven’t even done that?!

By the time you are reading this, you have finally gotten through your e-mail box, voice mail hell and you are off to your regular meetings.
It is time to go to work.

It is hard, but I welcome it. Where you really get into trouble is when you continue the holiday pace of cocktails and late nights. The holidays just seem to keep going while the rest of the world gets back to work.

Recruiting Never StopsNational Championship

On January 11th of this year, the National Championship will be played for college football.  Will it be Clemson or Alabama that comes home with the title?  Beyond those two teams, recruiting has already commenced.  The day after the trophy is announced, recruiting will begin for the two teams that are playing for the national title.  National signing day is just around the corner and players have already started announcing their eligibility for the NFL draft.

Yes, it has already started.

There is no time to rest on your laurels.  Teams can not afford to wait.  There will be celebration, but planning on 2016 has already commenced. There is work to be done.  Now!!

Companies are no different.  If they aren’t they are already behind.  As a candidate, you need to consider this.  Get yourself out there.
